The team at Aplin & Martin Consultants challenged the Brock White geotechnical team to help find a solution to a culvert crossing that had failed and needed to be fully reinstated.  There were a number of constraints: the system needed to be flexible enough to go around the culverts at the bottom of the ditch and we needed to maximize the width so large tractor trailers could get across and make the 90 degree turn. In addition, we wanted to minimize how long the crossing would be fully out of commission. The team recommended Maccaferri Terrawall® which provided a near vertical solution that could be field fit by the installation crews at the City of Richmond. Contractors prefer to install the near vertical TerraWall as the vertical lifts are up to 35% higher than the competitors, increasing productivity and much faster to install saving time and money!  In addition Flexamat offered the ability to reinforce the banks with added ballast and hard armour with the added benefit of offering a re-vegetated solution.  The result? Pretty fantastic we think!
